Koh Jin Hao

Diploma in Chemical & Green Technology

When in secondary 3, Jin Hao attended a Chemistry workshop in NYP. That encounter sold him on pursuing our Diploma in Chemical & Green Technology, his first choice for the Early Admissions Exercise. He saw how his passion for the environment and his strength in Mathematics and Science came together in this course.

Jin Hao thrived here – graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA, listing six times on the Director’s List, and snagging Silver for a brand-new category at WorldSkills Singapore in 2018!

He excelled at his internship too at SembCorp Industries’ R&D department. Besides acing the technical aspects during his stint, Jin Hao earned the trust of his supervisors and took on complex field work. His professionalism and willingness to learn got Jin Hao the chance to be a part of two large-scale projects.

Beyond studies, Jin Hao also found time to contribute to his CCA and help the community. He was the student-in-charge of the annual Toy Buffet in 2019, where he managed more than 300 NYP student ambassadors. This event helped put smiles on the faces of 3,000 children from underprivileged homes.

Jin Hao’s technical knowledge and leadership skills was also tested during an overseas community trip. He led his team to build a water purification system that drew and filtered water from a well for an orphanage in Bintan. Jin Hao says he cannot forget the smiles on the children’s faces when they saw the drinkable clean fresh water.

Jin Hao hopes to join NTU’s Renaissance Engineering Program. He aspires to be a Chemical Engineer so that he can continue creating change and building a sustainable environment.
