1.      Describe yourself in three words.

Ambitious. Curious. Diligent.

2.      What is your favourite memory of NYP?

Definitely all the competitions I took part in! Not just winning (that, of course, is the icing on the cake) but more of the preparation process with my coaches and mentors. I appreciate the time spent strategising and fine-tuning our ideas. Their guidance is something that I am very grateful for.

3.      What will you miss most about NYP?

I'll miss my passionate lecturers, my supportive friends and all the fun I had together with them throughout my poly journey. They helped shape me into who I am today and I'm sad (just a tad) that it’s time to leave for our next phase in life.

4.      You didn't do an internship, why?

I didn’t get to do an internship because I had the amazing opportunity to train for WorldSkills, which is this massive international competition where participants around the world gather and pit our skills against each other. They call it an “Olympics of Skills”. It’s a pretty huge set up and like the Olympics, you have to win the nationals, before you get to the Asian stage and if you’re good enough, Singapore fields you in the international competition. This year, some of us are headed to Kazan, Russia.

WorldSkills is where I honed both my technical and soft skills. I would have loved to go on an overseas internship, but I did not regret my decision to choose training. My advice? Do something that will give you the most unique and rewarding experience.

5.      Any wise words on making friends in poly?

Just be natural and "show face" (be present). For example, in CCAs, I didn't really make friends in the first few days. But, after attending events and meetings for a while, those familiar faces will naturally turn into friends. In fact, many of my close friends from poly are the people I met across different events.
