Course objectives

Faced with complexity of today’s global trading landscape, learners need to be aware about international trade challenges and the management of international freight. Through this one-day program, the learners will be able to evaluate the trading issues and shipping of a firm's goods and its impact on the business. The learners will be equipped with the skills to apply appropriate incoterms and import procedures. They will acquire the skills to simulate the impact of various modes of transportation for its products and select the best carriers to meet its needs and be equipped with the skills to mitigate various transportation risks involved.

Course description

Through this course, learners will be equipped with the competency to: 1. Explain the issues and challenges of international trade and transportation for a trading business. 2.Apply appropriate incoterms in transporting goods to meet the needs of sellers and buyers in a sales contract. 3. Apply different rules and regulations related to the process of international shipping involving transportation of dangerous goods, import procedures, and supply chain security 4. Mitigate various transportation risks for businesses with regards to their rights.
