Course objectives
Upon successful completion of the course, the participants will be able to:1. Identify personal values and attitudes at work to motivate and manage self within an organisation2. Negotiate and handle different working styles of peers and superiors for optimal work outcomes3. Apply concepts in team development to strengthen working relationships in an organisation
Course description
This course is developed in close collaboration with the Social Service Institute (SSI). This course will equip social service practitioners with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead themselves effectively and navigate challenges within the dynamic context of their organisations. This course will consist of a blend of classroom learning (e.g., lectures, activities, discussions) and practice and application back in their own work settings. Through these discussions and learning activities, participants will learn and practice solutions to manage challenges “within” (self), “across” (colleagues) and “above” (superiors). This course is suitable for social service practitioners and other professionals working in social services settings who wish to enhance their capability in working within the context of their organisation
