Course objectives
The Specialist Diploma in Nursing (Correctional Health) course will be offered part-time in 2 Post-diploma Certificates (PDCs) over 10 months (44 weeks). Total curriculum is 240 hours. The following PDCs are covered under this programme:1. Post-Diploma Certificate in Principles of Correctional Health (120 hours)2. Post-Diploma Certificate in Practice of Correctional Health Nursing (120 hours)
Course description
The Specialist Diploma in Nursing (Correctional Health) is designed to provide the academic preparation for registered nurses to practise in correctional health nursing. This course aims to equip registered nurses with in-depth knowledge and skills in correctional health nursing, enabling them to address the healthcare needs of inmates with both common and complex health issues in correctional setting.
