NYP-Centre for IT Innovation (Cybersecurity)

On 19 Oct 2022, the Centre for Strategic lnfocomm Technologies (CSIT), Fortinet Inc. (Fortinet), Ensign Infosecurity (Ensign), and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) established a partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to set up the NYP-Centre for IT Innovation (Cybersecurity) at NYP.

 

The Centre for Strategic lnfocomm Technologies (CSIT) is a technical agency in the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), while Fortinet, Inc. (Fortinet) secures the largest enterprise, service providers, and government organisations around the world. Ensign InfoSecurity (Cybersecurity) Pte. Ltd. (Ensign) is Asia's largest pure-play end-to-end cybersecurity service provider.

 

The Centre is set up to undertake cutting-edge cybersecurity and lnfocomm system projects for capability development purposes and functions as a resource centre for knowledge sharing among the Partners and industry. The centre’s activities aim to benefit the partners and help develop the cybersecurity manpower needs of Singapore. All partners are committed to support the Centre to achieve the following objectives.

  • To serve as a platform to promote the use of best-in-breed cyber security technologies, methodologies, processes, and solutions.
  • To develop critical cyber security manpower for Singapore.
  • To strengthen the cyber security capabilities of staff from partner organisations and NYP students through projects, research and development, attachments, and other forms of collaborations, and
  • To share knowledge and expertise in cyber security through seminars and courses among the Partners as well as for the Singapore lnfocomm industry.

 

NYP will develop an industry prototype and two industry projects with CSIT, a network security showcase with Fortinet, and an R&D project with Ensign. Students and staff involved in these projects, gain real-world cybersecurity experience.
