Local Internship Programme

You will have the opportunity in the final year to be attached to industry under the Internship Programme. There, you work on real-life industry-based projects, and apply what you have learnt in class to a real studio environment.

The Internship Programme:

  • puts into practice the knowledge and skills acquired by you during the course, onto real-life work conditions and environment. This boosts your competency and confidence;
  • develops your interpersonal and collaborative skills, and gears you for absorption into the industry upon graduation; and
  • forges a close relationship between industry and Nanyang Polytechnic.

Our internship programme is conducted over 2 periods for each academic year, with a 12 week duration per period. The periods are arranged back-to-back so that companies benefit from a 6-month period of student attachments.

Our students are available for these 2 periods:

Period 1:

Monday, 02 April 2018 - Friday, 22 June 2018

Period 2:

Monday, 25 June 2018 - Friday, 14 Sept 2018

Overseas Industrial Placement Programme (OIPP)

Under the OIPP, some of our students have experienced design internships in companies located in Europe, United States, East Asia and the Asia Pacific countries. They pick up many useful on-the-job skills during these overseas work stints, besides being exposed to a different design culture, consumer lifestyle and global work processes.

Our students have found these experiences invaluable in providing them with a more international outlook and a robust understanding of evolving design trends. You may have the opportunity to experience these for yourselves also.
