    Through carefully crafted modules and guided discovery sessions, you'll learn how these fields connect in today's world while uncovering the path that's right for you.

     

    At the end of your first semester, you will make an informed decision to pursue any one of the following paths in Year 1 Semester 2:

     

    Business Path

    Progress straight into the diploma in your second semester: 

     

    Engineering Path

    Explore engineering further with the Common Engineering Programme in your second semester, before choosing the engineering diploma that matches your interest:

     

     

    IT Path

    Spend your second semester discovering more about technology in the Common ICT Programme before selecting the IT diploma that's right for you:

  • The NYP Professional Competency Model (NYP-PCM) for the Common Business & Technology Programme consists of: 

     

    Learning Units

    • 5 Competency Units (CmU): Each CmU integrates skills and knowledge from different disciplines. This enables the students to fulfil specific work-tasks upon completion.

     

    1  Competency Canvas
    Each Competency Canvas consists of a collection of CmUs and WIUs, which is a workplace-contextualised project. Competency Canvases help you develop and demonstrate your abilities to perform work tasks at a higher proficiency.

     

    5 General Studies Modules (GSM)  
    General Studies Modules allow you to explore other areas of interest beyond your chosen area of specialisation. You will have to take 3 prescribed GSMs and 2 elective GSMs in Year 1.
