Diploma-Plus Programmes

The Diploma Plus Programme is offered to eligible students to broaden their learning and develop specialised skills and knowledge. This certified programme aims to equip you with valuable workplace knowledge and skills or advanced knowledge to better prepare you for your future university studies.

You will undertake the Dip-Plus programme during the course of your study. Upon successful completion of the Dip-Plus programme, you will receive a Dip-Plus transcript at Graduation.

The following modules are offered in the Diploma-Plus programme at the School of Health & Social Sciences:

  • HSA300 - Life Support Course for Nurses (LSCN) (30 hrs)

    This module provides you with advanced knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It explores the concepts of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the delivering of post-resuscitation care in hospitals and clinics.

    The module will include recognition of lethal cardiac rhythms and respiratory arrest as well as skills in advanced airway management, defibrillation, and administration of emergency drugs.

    You will be awarded with the LSCN Provider Certificate upon satisfaction of the criteria set out by the National Resuscitation Council.

  • HSA301 - Literature Appraisal & Academic Writing (45 hrs)

    The aim of this module is to equip you with skills to better manage your research work, projects and written assignments at the tertiary level.  It covers the topics of literature search, critical literature appraisal and review, and rhetorical moves and functions in academic writing.
