An encounter with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) engineers in secondary school sparked off his deep passion in aerospace and robotics. Now, recent SEG graduate, Laveneishyan Mogan is a proud winner of the prestigious Young Creator's Award. Conferred by the Institution of Engineers, Singapore, the award recognises innovative ideas on applications of science. For his final year project, he created a prototype based on NASA's famed Mars rover concept. His take on it? That it can overcome a rugged environment and be able to detect more than 20 different types of gases.
