NYP Students Played Their Part in Singapore World Water Day 2019

On 2 March 2019, our students participated in the opening of the Singapore World Water Day 2019 held at the Marina Barrage. Our Percussion Ensemble welcomed Guest of Honour, President Halimah Yacob with their energetic performance while students from the Service Learning Group (YEP) and Ambassadorial Team helped to manage the game booths and engage the public in outreach activities.
The World Water Day is held annually on 22 March, a day designated by the United Nations (UN) to celebrate the importance of water. The Singapore World Water Day 2019 is a month-long celebration that provides a platform to rally the community to celebrate and conserve water.
As part of the celebration, there will also be a night carnival on 22 March 2019 at the Marina Barrage. Highlights include a picnic under the stars, an outdoor movie screening and a fireworks display. The public are encouraged to support this initiative by pledging to conserve water at Makeeverydropcount.sg.
