At this national competition, teams prepared to pitch creative business case solutions to tackle HR challenges in actual companies. The 3 teams fielded by NYP beat out 23 other teams from various Polytechnics, ITEs and SUSS to score – HR Hackathon organised by the Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI).

Our teams Fast Sources, BB, and People Element, in total comprising 15 students from the DBM HR Specialization at SBM, took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively, winning cash prizes ranging from SGD$500 - SGD$1000.

News of the results were met with abundant cheer across the SBM family, accompanied by prevailing sentiments hailing it as a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

“It has been an arduous month tackling our challenge statement, but this experience has definitely better equipped us to face the challenges present in the HR industry,” said Muhmmad Aqmal, the team leader of Fast Sources, who cliched the champion title with their app-focused pitch addressing employee learning and development challenges at Wildlife Reserves Singapore. “The dedication and support from our lecturers have also pushed us to perform our very best, and for that we cannot be more grateful!”
