NYP students stay ahead in evolving F&B industry

Our SBM students can now hone their skills in restaurant analytics and decision science, thanks to a new partnership between NYP and Sapaad, a leading cloud-based Point-of-Sale (POS) and Restaurant Management System (RMS) designed for food businesses worldwide.

More than 70 students from the Diploma in Food & Beverage Business are expected to benefit from this tie-up. Students and staff will be equipped with hands-on applications of Sapaad POS and RMS. The RMS includes the full suite of services: front-of-house table reservation, back-of-house order fulfilment, real-time inventory management and business reporting capabilities. The solution will be implemented in NYP’s training restaurant, L’Rez. Students and staff will also get opportunities to be trained in new and emerging technologies in restaurant management applications such as data visualisation and analytics.

Sapaad will be involved in the co-development of the RMS curriculum for the Diploma in Food and Beverage Business. This will help develop an in-demand pool of talents with the specialised skillsets for the F&B sector. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on 31 Aug.
