Technology is transforming the logistics industry rapidly, with the largest companies in the world experimenting with automation and robots.

FedEx’s prototype autonomous delivery bot, Roxo, is visiting partners across Asia to get feedback on potential applications, and NYP is FedEx’s first Southeast Asian stop.  Developed in the US, Roxo can independently navigate steps and sidewalks.

Eric Tan, the managing director of FedEx Singapore, was present with his team to highlight Roxo’s delivery capabilities with SBM, and how technology can improve business productivity and outcomes.

Over a hundred 2nd year students from the Diploma in Business Management (specialising in supply chain management) had the opportunity to participate in the discussions and learn directly from industry insiders. They also put their classroom knowledge to good use in a mini competition where they came up with new possibilities for Roxo’s application in a highly urbanised environment like Singapore’s.

Student Chantel Lee believes technologies like Roxo could change the future and be a solution to current challenges in freight management.
