Course objectives
The course aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to support the food sector. It allows participants to gain valuable work experience and reinforce classroom learning.By the end of this course, learners will be able to:• Apply foundational knowledge in food science, food chemistry, and food microbiology to real-world food manufacturing operations.• Execute and manage processes related to food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance.• Operate and evaluate key unit operations and equipment used in food processing.• Design and improve food packaging and preservation solutions based on food technology principles.• Conduct structured on-the-job projects that contextualize theoretical knowledge into practical workplace tasks across QA, R&D, and production roles.
Course description
The modules of this programme leads to a full qualification comprising 900 hours (180 hours per module).In lieu of projects done during the OJT phase, academic CET participants (i.e. those who are non-WSC participants) would need to complete an in-institution project that will be contextualised to the company that sponsors/employs them.
