Course objectives
Many people want to innovate in their work but are unsure how to begin. SPAR²K (Spot, Poke, Ace, Road Test and Refine, Kickstart) makes innovation simple, structured, and accessible for everyone — from educators to administrators and managers.In this 1-day hands-on course, participants will learn to identify problems, ideate solutions, and test small improvements using playful yet practical tools.The SPAR²K process, developed by Nanyang Polytechnic, builds a shared innovation language across teams and departments, lowering barriers to creativity and collaboration.
Course description
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:- Identify everyday work challenges and opportunities for improvement.- Apply the SPAR²K (Spot, Poke, Ace, Road Test and Refine, Kickstart) step-by-step process to generate and test practical ideas.- Use tools such as PlayMats, PlayCards, and AI to think creatively.- Collaborate effectively to build a shared innovation mindset within teams.- Adapt the SPAR²K approach for use in different sectors such as education, business, public service, and many more.
