Course description
A competent individual should be equipped with the following knowledge: 1) Introduction to CNC machines- Classification of CNC machines- Introduction to CNC Lathes- Introduction to CNC Machining Centres2) Machining Techniques- 3-axis and multi-axis machining techniques- 5-axis positional machining vs. 5-axis continuous machining3) Part Programming and Editing- Introduction to CNC control system and part programming- Part programs transfer between Data Server and CNC machines- Part programs transfer using USB interfaces4) Setting up the CNC Machine- Manual operations with ‘JOG’ and ‘HANDWHEEL’ modes-- Automatic operations with ‘MDI’ mode- Program verification with ‘DRY RUN’ mode- Program execution with ‘MEMORY’ or ‘AUTO’ operation- Datum point setting- Tool length setting5) Machining of Parts- Precision components
