Course objectives
The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Orthopaedics) is designed to provide the academic and clinical preparation for registered nurses to practise in orthopaedic nursing. This course will provide graduates with a recognised tertiary qualification, and a career in orthopaedic nursing in a variety of public and private healthcare settings.
Course description
The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Orthopaedics) course will be offered full-time in 3 Post-diploma Certificates (PDCs) over 7 months (30 weeks). Total curriculum is 790 hours comprising 390 hours of academic studies and 400 of clinical practice. The following PDCs are covered under this programme:
PDC1: Post-Diploma Certificate in Principles and Science of Orthopaedic Nursing-ADOD1 (225 hours)
PDC2: Post-Diploma Certificate in Advanced Concepts in Orthopaedic Nursing-ADOD1 (165 hours)
PDC3: Post-Diploma Certificate in Practice of Orthopaedic Nursing-ADOD1 (400 hours)
