Course objectives

This 1-day Course will provide participants with an insight to Sustainability principles and how we can apply them in our daily lives. A key highlight of the Course focuses on an engaging session where participants will get to create their very own plant pot by recycling used materials such as beverage cartons. Each participant will be given a plant and required materials for their pot, with information on plant care techniques.In the Mobile Photography session, participants will discover the functions and features of their smartphone camera, learn the techniques that will enable them to capture better photos to attract and engage the attention of your target audience – practicing on their new plant creations. With your new knowledge and skills, learn about the potential opportunities in Social and eCommerce where you will get tips on how you can explore putting your creativity to work in crafting and where you can explore selling your products online.Participants will take home their potted plant as well as a pot template for making another creative pot on their own after class.Each participant is entitled to one potted plant that they make in class. Plants and materials provided for the Course are at the discretion of SIRS and our appointed partner(s). These cannot be changed or exchanged for any other item or for monetary value.

Course description

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:1. gain insights into sustainability eCommerce opportunities through understanding impacts and market demands.2. understand the essentials of setting up an eCommerce business through familiarisation of the key eCommerce, eMarketplaces and social commerce platforms.3. take high-impact photos using your smartphone that enhance audience engagement with mobile camera techniques. 4. create and pot your own greens using a range of plant care methodologies.
