About this course
Course objectives
This course is designed for F&B personnel to learn about New World wines. Learners will enhance their appreciation of new world wines through sensory evaluation, historical context and the principles of winemaking. Learners will also learn to read and interpret information on wine labels. Learners will also learn to carry out basic curation of wine selection from alternative sources to vary preference and taste of customers.
Course description
Upon completion of this unit, learners will attain knowledge and skills in the following areas: 1. Develop foundational understanding of new World wine regions2. Learn the basics of wine tasting and sensory evaluation techniques 3. Explore the processes of vinification and viticulture across different new world regions. 4. Gain basic insights into wine pairing and food complementarity
