We realised your passion to volunteer and help mentor youths. What keeps your passion burning?
I am deeply passionate about mentoring youths in IT, especially as they navigate a fast-changing career landscape. With remote work enabling global competition and AI transforming job roles, it’s vital for young talents to build not just technical skills, but also leadership, adaptability, cultural intelligence, critical thinking, and personal branding.
I believe that mentoring equips the next generation with the skills and mindset necessary to remain competitive and thrive in this dynamic environment. Seeing them succeed in this evolving landscape is what keeps my passion alive.
What inspired you to return to NYP and share your expertise with current students?
Now, standing on the other side of the journey as an alumnus, I carry with me a profound sense of gratitude. It’s more than just appreciation — it’s a calling. A calling to give back and to be for others what my lecturers were for me. Their dedication and mentorship didn’t just teach me skills — they helped me believe in possibility and growth, shaping who I am today.
By sharing my journey, I hope to inspire and empower current students, helping them navigate their own paths and make informed decisions that will set them up for success. It’s my way of contributing to their growth and paying forward the invaluable guidance I once received. After all, we rise by lifting others — and I’ve never forgotten who lifted me.

How has the experience of returning to NYP as a guest speaker impacted you personally?
It has allowed me to connect with numerous alumni, each with their own inspiring journeys and achievements, creating a sense of pride and camaraderie within our shared community.
Additionally, it gave me the chance to reconnect with peers I hadn’t been in contact with for years, rekindling old friendships and strengthening my professional network. This experience has been both nostalgic and fulfilling, reminding me of the value of lifelong connections and the importance of giving back to the community that shaped me.
How will you encourage other alumni to volunteer their time, talent, and treasure back to NYP?
If your time at NYP was meaningful, why not pay it forward and help others enjoy the same opportunities? And if your experience fell short of what you hoped, here’s your chance to shape a better one for future students. Every small action can ripple into something powerful.
Volunteering isn’t just about giving back; it’s an opportunity to step away from the daily grind, discover more about yourself, build new connections, and grow in unexpected ways. Whether you contribute your time, talent, or treasure, you play a part in creating a brighter, more supportive NYP community for all.
