Hello and a very warm welcome to Nanyang Polytechnic!

I am Mr Russell Chan, your principal.

Your journey from here on is uniquely yours to create. I urge you to take full advantage of the opportunities available. Choose from immersion trips, lunchtime talks, CCAs, competitions, internships, MakerSpaceNYP, etc.
They will help you develop skills and knowledge to achieve success in work and life.

And we will support you every step of the way.
Our strong partnerships with leading universities and companies mean that what you learn will always be the most relevant. You’ll also get to learn from, and be mentored by, experts in the industry.

At NYP, we’re focused on innovation and sustainability. We are keen on building your sense of innovativeness – this means staying curious, looking at issues from different perspectives, and finding creative solutions to solve problems. And we will guide you on your foray into sustainability – as we work together to make a positive impact on planet Earth and the community around us.
These qualities will stand you in very good stead in the future.

The other really big thing here is that we think of each other as a big family; So, go on, say hello to your fellow freshmen, and find the friends and bonds that will last you a lifetime.

If things get tough (and even if they don’t and you just want someone to talk to), remember that you will have a Personal Mentor and your lecturers whom you can reach out to.
