provide a more flexible and bite-sized learning option for working adults to undergo targeted, just-in-time training to help them stay responsive to a changing workplace. Working professionals are able to customise a learning pathway that best suits their needs by applying for the skills-based modular courses, instead of committing to a fixed programme of study at the outset. Individuals are able to accumulate the credits gained from the modular learning to gain a full qualification within the validity period. Please refer to the course write-up below for the validity period. Subsidy Eligibility There is no cap on the number of subsidised modular units for Singapore Citizens (SCs). SCs will receive same level of subsidy equivalent to the part-time full qualification. From 2016 onwards, SCs aged 25 and above, will also be able to tap on the SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the course fee. Module Title: Android Application Development Module Sypnosis This module introduces students to different genres of mobile devices and focuses on giving students a good understanding of mobile communication architecture, protocol, gateway, security, integration and implementation of mobile services and applications on the Android platform. In support of SkillsFuture wherein every Singaporean would be provided the opportunity to advance their careers through lifelong learning, it plays a key role in facilitating an individual’s advancement through applicable CET courses (e.g. Diplomas, Specialist Diplomas, Advance Diplomas) by recognising the knowledge and skills acquired by adults in both academic and non-academic contexts. Applicants wishing to apply for these applicable courses via the RPL pathway should indicate their choice during the online application phase of these courses, and attach all necessary documentation for evaluation. If deemed necessary, applicants may be required to attend an interview and / or take an assessment test. Please access here for a list of FAQs. SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening credit of S$500 from January 2016. Your credit will not expire and the government will provide periodic top-ups, so you may accumulate your credit to pay for course fees for a range of approved eligible skills-related courses. The credits can be used on top of existing course fee subsidies/funding. For self-sponsored course applicants, you can use your SkillsFuture Credit to pay your course fees after you have been offered a place in the course. You can apply to use your credit 60 days before the course start date. The last day for SFC claim application will be the course start date.
