DHTM students emerge victorious at Travel & Tourism Business (TTBiz) Challenge 2017
School of Business Management

Two NYP teams from the Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management swept up the first and third prizes at the TTBiz Challenge 2017, beating competitors from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic.

The TTBiz Challenge is organised by Junior Achievement Singapore, Junior Achievement Japan and sponsored by Accenture Japan. The competition aims to build future global talents in the travel and tourism sector by encouraging entrepreneurship and leadership. It also provides a platform for cross-cultural appreciation as each team has to be made up of students from Singapore, Japan, Korea and Philippines.

In their proposal, DHTM students Bryan Koo Zhuang Yuan, Koh Kang Yik and Ho Jia Yi had to work with their counterparts in Philippines and Japan to pitch the idea (through web conference!) of a 5-day itinerary to Tohoku, incorporating sustainability practices in their business activities, to help restore the area devastated by the 2011 tsunami. The team topped the competition with a unique travel itinerary and impressed the panel of international judges from the tourism industry.

Congratulations to the winning teams for doing NYP proud!
