Banking on Sustainability
School of Business Management

Imagine a bank that allows you to generate renewable energy as you save or insurance that assures better health. An NYP School of Business Management (SBM) team radically transformed how our generation should bank using the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The cross-diploma team comprising Eric Lim and Tasha Chelsea Goh (Accountancy & Finance); Tee Yi Xin, Russell Wong and Nur Syazana (Hospitality & Tourism Management) proposed a year-round, all-round banking services innovation for OCBC Bank.

Amidst intense competition from more than 80 university and post-secondary teams, they clinched 1st runner-up and a $4,000 cash prize in the CDL-GCNS Young SDG Leaders Award 2018. They were also the best performing polytechnic/Pre-U team. Organised by the UN Global Compact Network Singapore (GCNS), the team received their UN award from DPM Teo Chee Hean at the GCNS Summit 2018.
