Network Design [30 hours]
A network allows computing devices, such as servers, PCs and network equipment to work together to support business function. In this module, learners will implement a small network and develop skills on how to troubleshoot network issues and apply security hardening in network devices. Learners will also learn other aspects in network communication, such as the transport and application layers.
Implementing LAN [30 hours]
Implementing an efficient network is essential to an enterprise that has undergone digital transformation. In this module, learners will design and implement a switched network. Besides acquiring knowledge on network technology and protocols, learners will configure a switch with functionalities such as virtual LANs implementation, basic switch security and inter-VLAN in a converged network.
Open System Essentials [30 hours]
Open-source operating system (OS) is widely used in the IT industry. In this module, learners will implement essential operating system services needed for an enterprise system. These include the management of file systems, system security / recovery, network directory services and software deployment for the enterprise. In addition, learners will also learn about OS boot-up sequence and issues resulting from OS service misconfiguration.
IT Service Management [30 hours]
IT Service management provides business value with improved operational efficiencies, increased staff productivity, reduced risk, and higher customer satisfaction. In this module, learners will propose solutions to improve IT operations with reference to IT service management methodologies. They will learn the methodologies and tools with regards to planning, support, delivery, and management of quality IT services. They will also acquire knowledge on the functions and processes in Service Strategy, Design, Transition and Operation.
System & Network Administration Project [60 hours]
For a good support in smooth business operations, uptime, performance, and security of IT resources, are essential. System and network administration skillsets are hence pertinent. In this project, learners will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in IT service management as well as the administration of IT networks and computer servers. Besides setting up computer servers with essential services, learners will setup a functional network to support system administrative functions with appropriate network addressing.
