Innovating beyond the classroom: Jetson Lam's entrepreneurship journey
From launching a streetwear brand to developing a gamified loyalty platform, Jetson Lam (Class of 2020) now runs an award-winning digital marketing agency.
While studying Hospitality & Tourism Management at NYP, Jetson Lam actively sharpened his leadership and marketing skills by running large-scale events, and was a finalist in the National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge 2018 and SUSS Brand Challenge 2019.
Besides his stellar performance – being on the Director’s list – Jetson was more well-known among his peers for his streetwear brand, Wanders.
Quickly gaining popularity on campus, Wanders had sponsored for National Day events, collaborated with various school clubs, and partnered social enterprise Singapore Fashion Runway for their annual “Fashion for a Social Cause” show. The brand has since been acquired by another business.

Jetson also shared his insights at entrepreneurship talks and encouraged fellow NYP students to pursue their business ideas.
After graduation, Jetson secured the NYP Jumpstart Grant, a $10,000 seed fund and developed PlayLah!, a gamified loyalty platform in 15 months’ time. Launched for over a year since 2022, the platform served over 30 brands and generated over $24,000 in revenue within months, demonstrating a high customer retention rate through innovative marketing solutions.

The Play Lah! App provides over 20 games that keep customers busy while waiting for their items; when they acquire a certain score, they will receive discounts or freebies from the vendor.
Jetson has also founded Adverdize, a digital marketing agency, impressively revenues by 160% for small and medium businesses. The agency even won the Best Emerging Full-Service Digital Marketing Company award in 2024 by APAC Insider and the Singapore SME500 Award 2024.

As a young entrepreneur, Jetson remains humble and open to learning. “Success comes from constantly creating your own opportunities. My journey has always been about staying hungry, building things from scratch, and learning by doing. Education is just one part of the process – It’s the drive behind it that makes the difference.”
