From Classroom to Career: A Transformative Internship at Mediacorp
Candice Chin (Dip. in Mass Media Management, now Dip. in Media & Communication Management) shares more about her firsthand experience and exposure to real-world challenges.
Candice Chin has built strong relationships with her co-workers at Mediacorp in her six-month internship.
As an intern at Mediacorp, I was tasked to work on over 15 titles for Channel 8 and Channel U, primarily editing trailers on a weekly basis. Notable projects included Golden Age Talentime, The Sheng Siong Show, and Every Body Knows. A major highlight for me was overseeing the launch of Channel U's Young Forever Season 6, where I participated in the entire process, from pre-production to post-production.
In addition to editing trailers, I also helped with production shoots for various trailers, including Emerald Hill, Star Search 2024, and Lunar New Year Greetings 2025. I assisted with wardrobe, took b-roll footage, and captured behind-the-scenes moments. One standout experience was working on a virtual production for an upcoming drama. This was an eye-opening opportunity that allowed me to witness how innovative technology is used in the media industry.
This internship provided me with valuable firsthand experience in the media industry and allowed me to connect with inspiring individuals who helped me develop my skills. I am grateful for the relationships I built during my time at Mediacorp.
