What made you choose to study at NYP?

NYP’s Diploma in Applied AI & Analytics (DAAA) was my first choice. The curriculum and its practical application of AI technologies gave us a great head start into technopreneurship, with emerging fields like GenAI integrated into our lessons. By learning how to address challenges, optimise IT operations, and improve decision-making processes, my coursemates and I could pursue opportunities in a rapidly evolving, innovation-driven digital landscape. I’m especially grateful to Ms Sun Yuanxin and Mr Kelvin Woo, my mentors who are both accomplished entrepreneurs. They gave me invaluable guidance when I faced a lot of challenges building Procolink, and their belief in me gave me more confidence to push boundaries and gain the knowledge and skills to pursue my ideas and shaped my journey as a technopreneur.

Procolink

After concluding your final-year project, what motivated you to continue developing Procolink, and how did you approach that next phase?

My lecturers always encourage us to explore ideas and create scalable, cost-effective solutions to real-world challenges – and this has given us a lot of courage and tenacity to expand possibilities.

While our technology demonstration was impressive for a student-led team, we had to prove our commercial credibility – that Procolink is trustworthy and that we can deliver value – to fully develop into a full-fledged business. To convince our first client to sign a software agreement with us, we implemented rigorous project management and execution standards. With a strong focus and demonstration on a reliable delivery process, we ultimately secured our first software agreement and validated Procolink as a viable commercial vendor.

NYP Information Technology students are now fully supported to explore their business ideas with our latest Technopreneurship pathway. Find out more at NYP Open House 2026!

How has the CSIT scholarship helped you in your Technopreneurship journey?

When I applied for the CSIT–Nanyang Scholarship, I wanted to understand what it truly means to work in an organisation where secrecy and security are paramount. While my main passion lies in software engineering, I’ve always valued learning across domains like cybersecurity.

This experience gave me first-hand insight into the meticulous standards and rigorous safeguards CSIT applies to protect its code and research. It inspired me to adopt the same precision, discipline, and attention to detail in my own projects, including Procolink, and strengthened both my technical skills and my mindset as a future engineer.

What is most memorable and meaningful to you at NYP?

While many might highlight my CSIT–Nanyang Scholarship, the $10,000 Jumpstart Grant, my academic results, Procolink, or my role as Valedictorian – my most memorable times in NYP was working with three fellow NYP School of IT graduates (Anson Oh, Marcus Goh, and Jeff Lee) in the few months before National Service to develop Procolink into an omni-channel AI ticketing showcase. Through sheer perseverance, we proved that true success lies in resilience, teamwork, and belief!
