Four new NYP diplomas open for application in Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) 2026, including AI Robotics and Biopharmaceutical & Chemical Engineering
Close to half of NYP's top graduates over the past three years entered via EAE, securing seats ahead of their O-Level examinations.
Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) launches four new diploma programmes for EAE this year – Diploma in AI Robotics, Diploma in Biopharmaceutical & Chemical Engineering, Diploma in Computing, and Diploma in Experience Design. These programmes will be open for application in the 2026 exercise, for admission in academic year 2027.
Nearly half of NYP’s highest achieving graduates over the past three years bypassed traditional admissions routes and enrolled via the EAE, before their final exam results were released. The finding comes ahead of NYP’s annual EAE Festival on 05 and 06 Jun 2026.
The EAE is increasingly becoming a preferred pathway for students seeking to be ahead of the curve, allowing them to secure an early conditional offer to their desired diploma course. With its focus on aptitude, passion and potential, students can pursue courses aligned with their strengths and interests early on. The competitive edge is clear – EAE gives students the confidence and clarity to focus on deepening relevant skills, building portfolios and gaining industry experience, positioning them strongly for success in polytechnic and beyond.
Rohan Senthil, from the Class of 2025, enrolled into the Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics via the EAE. He didn’t just excel academically, he co-founded Virage, an AI-powered anti-scam platform later acquired by IT consultancy firm, Cyber Leaders Nexus. He also clinched pinnacle awards – the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Outstanding All-Round Achievement, the Ngee Ann Kongsi Award for All-Round Achievement and the Lee Kuan Yew Award for Mathematics & Science.
"The EAE allows us to look beyond grades and identify students who have a genuine passion for their chosen field. A good percentage of our top graduates over the past years came through this pathway, underscoring that aptitude and drive, when recognised early, are the true engines of success,” said Mr Russell Chan, Principal & CEO of Nanyang Polytechnic.
The EAE Festival offers a range of activities to help prospective students and their families make informed decisions, including:
- EAE Parents’ Seminar: Parents and students can hear from NYP’s Principal & CEO on the NYP experience, alongside tips on how students can best showcase their passion and talents to secure a spot in their dream course through EAE.
- EAE Prep Workshops: Guiding students on crafting their 600- and 1,000-character write-ups, strengthening their portfolios, and preparing for interviews. Additionally, with portfolios being mandatory for EAE applications for all design courses at NYP, the School of Design & Media will also be holding face-to-face portfolio reviews for the first time. Students are encouraged to bring their existing works, and lecturers will provide feedback in person on how they can be improved. Online portfolio workshops will continue on 08 and 10 June for students who have yet to start or need practical tips for building a standout portfolio.
- Guided School Tours and Taster Workshops: Students get first-hand experience about their dream course, including the curriculum, learning facilities, and opportunities to speak with lecturers.
- Student Life Talks: Current learners – also known as NYP Insiders – will offer insights into campus life and Go Beyond, NYP’s signature programme where learners can choose their preferred learning pathway through the Professional, International or University tracks.
