      Each CmU integrates skills and knowledge from different disciplines. This enables you to fulfil specific work-tasks upon completion. 
    • 3 Work-Integration Units (WIU)
      A WIU is a workplace contextualised project. It allows you to tackle real-world work problems under the guidance of our educators, so that you are ready for the workplace. Each WIU belongs to a Competency Canvas that helps you develop and demonstrate your abilities to perform work tasks at a higher proficiency.
    • 3 Competency Canvases 
      Each Competency Canvas consists of a collection of CmUs and a WIU, which is a workplace-contexualised project. Competency Canvases help you develop and demonstrate your abilities to perform work tasks at a higher proficiency.
    • 12-week Internship Programme and 12-week Final Year Project 
      Intern with our industry partners and gain hands-on experience to be confident in the workplace. Through your final year project, showcase the skills that you have gained in the diploma.

  1. UPP-University Module Track
    Gain credit exemptions for three university modules under NUS College of Design & Engineering, NTU School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or NTU School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.

You'll be co-mentored by SUTD professors and NYP lecturers, and be assessed beyond your aptitude and grades. Gain valuable experience and develop a Design AI mindset at Singapore’s first Design AI university for the new world.

During her internship at Korea Polytechnic VII Changwon, Nora Teo Woon En gained global competencies and hands-on experience in programming collaborative robots for industrial applications. Her time at the national WorldSkills Singapore competition, where AI played a central role, further equipped her with the skills and confidence to navigate emerging technological challenges.

A robot dog

You may have seen robot dogs go viral online. But what if one had a real job?

 

We're teaming up with IBM to build an AI-powered robot dog for the real world. It patrols server rooms independently, using computer vision to read equipment gauges and acoustic intelligence to detect sounds that detect anomalies. 

Diploma-Plus Programmes

Eligible students can broaden their horizons through our Diploma Plus Programme, acquiring specialised skills and advanced knowledge for immediate workplace application or further university studies. This certified program culminates in a Dip-Plus transcript awarded at graduation. Completing all prescribed Dip-Plus (DP) programmes may also exempt students from Mathematics modules at the following universities:

  • National University of Singapore: Students who pass all three NYP Mathematics DP modules (Analytical Geometry, Applied Calculus, and Advanced Calculus), will be exempted from "MA1301 Introductory Mathematics".
  • Nanyang Technological University: Students with good grades in all three NYP Mathematics DP modules (Analytical Geometry, Applied Calculus, and Advanced Calculus) may be exempted from Mathematics modules offered by various engineering schools at NTU. Exemptions will be reviewed and granted on a case-by-case basis.
