Rohan co-founded Virage, an AI-powered scam simulation platform adopted by government agencies – and won the Lee Hsien Loong Interactive Digital Media Award. He also led NYP’s Technopreneurship Club to incubate four startups, and mentored peers and seniors in digital safety.

 

"My NYP experience reaffirmed my passion for Technology and Cybersecurity. It taught me the value of independent learning and time management. I had many opportunities for real-world industry experiences, which allowed me to develop the necessary professional skills."

Jun Hao co-developed an AI system to detect falls in the elderly (which won the Lee Hsien Loong Interactive Digital Media Award), led the engineering student club, achieved a near-perfect GPA, and gave back through tutoring and tech-driven volunteer work.

Alex Chien Jun Hao

Alex founded Singapore’s first AI interest group among polytechnics, leading it from 30 to 150 members over three years. He created beginner-friendly AI learning experiences that made complex concepts accessible to his peers.

 

“Looking back, NYP gave me the space to dream big and the support to make those dreams real – from starting Singapore’s first polytechnic AI interest group to representing the country in international competitions. It was more than just school; it was a launchpad.”

Aizam led NYP’s Community Service Club to run 11 impactful projects – including senior befriending and food donation drives – while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA and winning international business competitions.

 

"I had multiple opportunities during my time at NYP to meet and interact with people beyond Singapore, through exchanges, competitions, and classroom settings. My lecturers also inspired me to look beyond, and that the world is truly my oyster. I was constantly learning from their ability to connect current developments in the world to the things we learnt."
