  • Recipient of the Healthcare Merit Award (HMA) Full Term to study Nutrition and Dietetics (Hons) in SIT
  • Recipient of the bioMerieux Gold Medal

Anna, starting from humble beginnings in the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP), achieved the prestigious Gold Medal in her course. Yet, her accomplishments go far beyond this. As Vice Chairperson of the HEAL Interest Group, she drives the promotion of healthy living and wellness in her community. Participating in the International Proveg Challenge, Anna displayed her innovative thinking and culinary expertise by creating an unprecedented chocolate chickpea oat milk. Her dedication to food sustainability is evident through her weekly volunteering at a bread distribution center, reducing food waste and ensuring access to fresh, nutritious food for all.

Jolene Ong Sze Xuan  (Class of 2021)

Jolene had represented NYP in three major food competitions: the IUFost Product Development Competition, Asia’s Great Snack Challenge, and the World Food Innovation. Together with her teammate, they developed a signature food product - the Ondeh-ondeh Dysphagia Ice-cream - with the objective of expanding the variety of desserts available to the elderly with swallowing difficulty. This yummy product was also fortified with dietary fibre and calcium. Jolene shared: “The competitions allowed me to learn about the ins and outs of the food production industry, and has motivated me to create more food that will improve lives.”

Wong Kah Xuan  (Class of 2020)

Kah Xuan joined NYP via the Early Admissions Exercise (EAE) and, not only did she excel in her studies, she also took home the A*STAR Science Award. Recapping her three years at NYP, Kah Xuan says that she is exceptionally grateful for the support from SAS; especially during the times when she struggled to cope, due to dyslexia. As the diploma Gold medallist of class 2021, she would like to encourage her juniors: “Always have faith and believe in yourself. Despite the challenges ahead, take it slow and do not hesitate to seek help. With resilience and open-mindedness, you can uncover your potential!”
