Animation Showcase

This is a compilation of 2D and 3D animation works created in recent final year projects. 

A compilation of animation works by the NYP School of Interactive and Digital Media (SIDM) year 1 - year 3 students, covering everything from 2D illustration to 3D art, individual assignments to group project work!

The International Animation Challenge (IAC) was held at Rubika, Valenciennes, France, from 15 - 26 July 2019.

Five of our year 3 animation students (Rachel Teh, Siow Yan Qin, Megan Lau Xuan Qi, Angeline Chiang Xue Er, Chloe Yap Jing Yi) took part in the competition, which saw 6 countries participating:

• UK ( Leeds Arts University, 3 students),
• Australia (Griffith Film School, 5 students),
• China (Jilin Animation Institute, 4 students),
• Thailand(BSRU, 2 students),
• Singapore (NYP, 5 students) and
• France (Rubika, 4 Students)

In total, there were 5 groups and each group had students of different nationalities. They were given the task to create a chained animation with a given image - an egg, and asked to create 20 seconds long animation based on the subject of ‘Diversity’, starting and ending from the same image of the egg.

Depressed by his failures, Nathan, the musician strays at home, until one day, a bird brought hope to his life.

This project was selected for the International Animated Film Festival "Constantine's Gold Coin", Music Shorts Film Festival in Missoula, KingstOOn Animation Conference and Afri-Descendant Film Festival, Melbourne International Animation Festival, East Anglian Student Film Festival, and Anim!Arte Festival in Brazil!

Little P the Pontianak is the story of a young Pontianak (female vampiric ghost in Malay mythology) who is quite different from her peers.

This project was selected for Marmaris International Short Film Festival in Turkey, and the Anim!Arte Festival in Brazil!

Molly is a fish stuck in her bowl, who longs for the ocean. Her only chance at freedom, and happiness, lies in an unlikely friend - the house pet cat. The only thing going against them is distance -- and a fat cat determined to eat Molly.

Once upon a time, there was a boy who couldn't take his eyes away from his game. He came to a whimsical garden named "Mysteria Garden" and met a new friend.

A bird comes across on what he thinks is the most beautiful bird he has ever laid eyes on and decides to woo her. However there does seem to be something very peculiar about her.
