Diploma-Plus Programmes

The School of Business Management offers Dip-Plus modules to eligible students from the full-time diplomas to enhance their technical & professional capability.

Eligible students will be taking the Dip-Plus module(s) in addition to the modules offered under their respective diplomas during their course of their study. Students who successfully complete the Dip-Plus modules will receive a Dip-Plus transcript indicating the modules, hours and grades upon graduation.

BMA203: EXCEL Interactive Dashboard Analytics

Firms operating in today’s business environment are generating voluminous amounts of data. Good data analytics will allow firms to gain further insights into their businesses, thus giving them an added competitive advantage. In this module, students will learn to use advanced spreadsheet features to manage, analyse and visualise these business data. Students will also learn to customise the spreadsheet to enhance productivity and improve efficiency by building interactive management dashboard to aid in the business decision-making process.

In addition, this module prepares students for Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification Exams 77-728 “Excel 2016 Expert: Interpreting Data for Insights”.

For students pursuing Diploma in Accountancy & Finance

NYP offers the NYP-ACCA Accelerated Pathway Programme under the Diploma Plus Programme, where students can embark on the ACCA qualification even before they graduate from the diploma. The Diploma Plus modules offered prepare students for the three final modules (F7: Financial Reporting, F8: Audit and Assurance and F9: Financial Management) in the fundamental stage of the ACCA qualification. NYP has also partnered EY Singapore to offer these Diploma Plus students an Enhanced Internship Placement Programme whilst pursuing their ACCA qualification.


BMA307: Financial Reporting

The current business landscape is fast changing and it is essential that accountants are in touch with the latest financial reporting standards. This helps them to perform their roles not only as business partners, but also uphold the trust of the public in the financial reporting process. This module is designed to foster a comprehensive understanding of key concepts and principles of financial reporting so as to equip students with the skillsets to record business transactions and prepare financial statements in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standards. Coverage includes the conceptual and regulatory framework of accounting, Financial Reporting Standards, preparation, analysis and interpretation of financial statements.

In addition, this module prepares students for the ACCA F7 Financial Reporting paper.


BMA308: Audit and Assurance

Auditing is the cornerstone of business organisations as it gives users confidence in an organisation’s Financial Reporting. This module develops knowledge and skills in the process of carrying out the assurance engagement by introducing students to the basic concepts and principles of auditing. It covers audit planning, including assessment of audit risks in financial statements, evidence gathering and audit reporting, with the aim of preparing students to handle various aspects of audit engagement. Students will be introduced to the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics which professional accountants need to comply with, as well as identification of threats and the appropriate safeguards to mitigate the identified threats. Contemporary issues such as the corporate governance and expectation gap are also considered.

In addition, this module prepares students for the ACCA F8 Audit & Assurance paper.


BMA309: Financial Management

Today’s business world requires skilled finance professionals to navigate the complex financial environment. In this module, students will acquire the skills to evaluate investment in working capital and appraise long-term investments, assess various sources of business finance, value business and financial assets as well as incorporate risk management techniques in businesses.

In addition, this module prepares students for the ACCA F9 Financial Management paper.
