Director's Message

Welcome to the School of Engineering (SEG), the ideal institution for secondary school leavers looking to take their first steps in their career, or industry professionals looking for ways to their skills and knowledge.

With our extensive industry linkages together with a strong focus on developing industrially relevant capabilities and curriculum, cumulatively developed since we first began, our graduates are very well received both by the industry and by the universities, both local and overseas. Our industry-relevant courses, state-of-the-art teaching facilities and laboratories and emphasis on real-world learning experiences has enabled us to consistently deliver graduates who are well sought after in the industry.

Our students have done us proud over the years. For example, as a reflection of their engineering prowess, at the WorldSkills Singapore 2016 (WSS2016), NYP SEG students participated in eight trades and brought back 3 Gold, 5 Silver, 3 Bronze and 1 Medallion for Excellence making us NYP's best performer in this competition, and in the Singapore Amazing Flying Machines Competition 2016 our students won a total of 6 awards comprising 2 Golds, 2 Silvers and 2 Bronzes in the Autonomous and Semi-Autonomous flying machines categories.

But the SEG experience can be even more than the discovery, development and realisation of just your career aspirations. In SEG, a whole slew of opportunities will be opened to develop yourself holistically through our many programmes in leadership, innovation and entrepreneurial development, competitions, overseas exposure trips, and many other areas. It is where a wide range of options is available for you to pursue your interests both inside and outside of the classroom – in areas like sports, arts, music, professional interests and hobbies and more. It is where you find your place in the SEG family, forging and establishing friendships and connections that will be mutually beneficial beyond your time spent here.

I encourage you to explore this website to find out more about SEG, our courses, programmes and student activities that you can enjoy when you join the SEG Family.
