Cardiovascular Disease Risk Assessment
School of Engineering

NYP won a 2017 Institution of Engineers Singapore's Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award for a non-invasive device that can be used to assess an individual's risk of developing cardiovascular disease. The device was developed, in collaboration with Dr Rinkoo Dalan from Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), based on NYP's patented magnetic based blood flow sensing technology. The system underwent clinical trials at TTSH, and the findings were accepted by the world-renowned European Association for the Study of Diabetes. A patent for this system was jointly filed by NYP and TTSH.

The Institution of Engineers Singapore's Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award is given to an organization or person(s) responsible for an outstanding engineering project in Singapore.
