Tama University Virtual Exchange Programme
School of Business Management

More than 30 students and professors from Tama University, School of Global Studies, Japan, attended a four-day online study tour organised by NYP.

Themed around how Singaporeans live, work and play in the new normal amid COVID-19, DHTM shared how SBM colleagues from the TEP centres conduct teaching and learning during the pandemic.

Industry partners, Novotel Singapore on Stevens and Mercure Singapore on Stevens, Huone Singapore, Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands (MBS) were also invited to share insights on how they overcame business and operational challenges during this trying time. These included useful tips for our Japanese friends who were keen to embark on a career in the hospitality industry.

HS Club's exco also had the chance to work with MBS MICE team to plan and execute a live event using MBS' virtual platform on 8 Sep. Students gained hands-on practical experience and assumed key roles such as virtual show callers, laptop operators and runners.

"Previously, my experience in event planning was only involved school projects, so this was the first time I've done events in a real-world professional context. Working with the MBS MICE team was exhilarating. There were occasions when we had to resolve unexpected technical issues, but we stayed calm and persevered. The positive engagement from the audience made our efforts worthwhile," shared Lim Wei, President of HS Club.
