First Graduation Ceremonies for NYP’s Merged and Renamed Schools
Published on 06 May 2021

Over 5,800 students graduated from NYP this year. In addition, NYP saw the first graduation ceremonies for our new School of Design & Media and renamed School of Applied Science.

Dr Maliki Osman (Minister, Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Education and Foreign Affairs) graced NYP’s Institutional Session on 05 May. In his speech, Dr Maliki highlighted how NYP has been responding to change with innovation. He cited how we saw the changing needs of the design sector, and merged NYP’s previous School of Interactive & Digital Media (SIDM) and School of Design (SDN) into a new School of Design and Media.

He added that the merger will help NYP better integrate its long-standing expertise across the Design, Media and Technology fields, and strengthen educational offerings for future generations of NYP students. He also touched on our Professional Competency Model (PCM) – citing it as a bold move that will give our students an edge in the fast-moving workplace of the future.
