In an adrenaline-fueled setting at the Marina Bay Street Circuit during the recent Formula 1 race, 4 NYP Food & Beverage Business Year Three learners showcased their culinary expertise and composure under pressure. NYP, stood out as the exclusive polytechnic to collaborate with the Singapore Grand Prix and Singapore Tourism Board to curate, prepare and serve Peranakan dishes. Learners immersed themselves in months of intensive research on Peranakan cuisine, perfecting recipes, and mastering portion sizes. The challenge was to concoct, prepare, and serve exquisite Peranakan dishes to guests in premium hospitality packages as part of the F1 experience. From ayam ponteh to pengat pisang, they made an unforgettable impression on approximately 450-550 guests, creating a culinary spectacle that resonated with the excitement of the racing circuit.
